Book Conservation at Belmont Library/Costume Conservation at Belmont

P1010256There is an on-going project to clean and restore the book in the library and study at Belmont House, near Faversham.   Working in small teams, the HeritageVolunteers have been engaged in this extensive conservation project since mid-2005.   Having received specialist training, the volunteers are working under the auspices of the NADFAS Church and Heritage Department.  Those involved in this interesting venture hope that the new skills learnt by the volunteers may be put to future use in another similar project.

There is also a group of Heritage Volunteers working on the costumes at Belmont, which have been in store for many years, and it is hoped that the costumes will be on display in the future.
